MSYSL Football League
The Manchester & District Sunday Football League (MSYSL) is an amateur football league in the Greater Manchester area of England. It was founded in 1964 and currently consists of 20 teams. The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One.
History
The MSYSL was founded in 1964 by a group of football enthusiasts in the Greater Manchester area. The league started with just 10 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now consists of 20 teams. The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One. The winners of the Premier Division are promoted to the North West Counties Football League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One. The winners of Division One are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Greater Manchester Amateur Football League.
The MSYSL has a long and proud history. The league has produced a number of professional footballers, including Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes. The MSYSL is also a popular destination for former professional footballers who want to continue playing at a competitive level.
Current Season
The current season of the MSYSL is the 2022-2023 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Oldham Athletic Reserves, while Division One is being led by Ashton Athletic. The season will end in May 2023 with the playoffs to determine the champions of each division.
