Molten East Kent Youth Football League

The Molten East Kent Youth Football League (EKYL) is an amateur football league for youth players in East Kent, England. It was founded in 1993 and currently has over 100 teams competing in its various divisions. The league is affiliated to the Football Association and its teams compete in the FA Youth Cup.

History

The EKYL was founded in 1993 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just a few teams but has grown steadily over the years. In 2023, the league has over 100 teams competing in its various divisions.

In recent news, the EKYL has been involved in a controversy involving Canterbury City. Canterbury City applied to join the EKYL for the 2023-2024 season but their application was rejected by the EKYL. Canterbury City have appealed the decision to the Kent FA.

The EKYL has also been praised for its work in promoting youth football in East Kent. The league has been running a number of initiatives to encourage more children to play football, including a girls' football program and a disability football program.
