Introduction
The Millennium Division 1 is an amateur football league in the United Kingdom. It is the top division of the Millennium Football League, which is a regional league for amateur football clubs in the south-east of England.
History
The Millennium Division 1 was founded in 2000, as part of the expansion of the Millennium Football League. The inaugural season featured 12 teams, and the champions were Thamesmead Town.
The league has grown steadily since its inception, and now features 20 teams. The current champions are Beckenham Town, who won the title in the 2022-23 season.
Format
The Millennium Division 1 is a league of 20 teams, who play each other home and away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Southern Counties East Football League Division One, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Millennium Division 2.
The league also has a cup competition, the Millennium Division 1 Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the Millennium Division 1, and the winner qualifies for the FA Vase.
