Mercian Fortis Youth Football League
The Mercian Fortis Youth Football League is an amateur football league in Worcestershire, England. It is affiliated with the Worcestershire Football Association (WFA) and is a Charter Standard league.
History
The Mercian Fortis Youth Football League was founded in 1996. It was originally called the Mercian Junior Football League, but the name was changed in 2018.
Structure
The Mercian Fortis Youth Football League consists of 11 divisions, catering for boys and girls from Under-7 to Under-18 level. The divisions are divided into two sections, the Mercian Fortis Premier League and the Mercian Fortis Challenge League.
The Mercian Fortis Premier League is the top division in the league. It is made up of 12 teams. The Mercian Fortis Challenge League is the second division in the league. It is made up of 20 teams.
Season
The Mercian Fortis Youth Football League season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division twice, once home and once away.
The top two teams in the Mercian Fortis Premier League at the end of the season are promoted to the Mercian Senior League. The bottom two teams in the Mercian Fortis Premier League are relegated to the Mercian Fortis Challenge League.
Cup competitions
The Mercian Fortis Youth Football League also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Mercian Fortis Challenge Cup, the Mercian Fortis Floodlit Cup, and the Mercian Fortis League Cup.
