MDFA Division I
The MDFA Division I is the second-tier football league in Mumbai, India, organized by the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA). It is contested by 33 clubs, divided into two groups of 16. The top two teams from each group at the end of the season are promoted to the MFA Elite Division, while the bottom two teams in each group are relegated to the MDFA First Division.
History
The MDFA Division I was founded in 1962 as the second division of the Mumbai Football League. It was renamed the MDFA Super Division in 1993, and then the MDFA Elite Division in 2022. The current champions are Reliance Foundation Youth Champs.
Current Season
The 2023-24 season of the MDFA Division I is currently underway. The top two teams at the end of the season will be promoted to the MFA Elite Division, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the MDFA First Division.
