Introduction
The Lune & District Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in the Lune Valley in Lancashire, England. It was founded in 1920 and currently consists of 16 teams.
The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division. The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the North West Counties Football League Division One at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the First Division.
The league cup is called the Lune & District Amateur Football League Challenge Cup. It is a knockout competition open to all teams in the league.
History
The Lune & District Amateur Football League was founded in 1920. The inaugural season consisted of just six teams. The league has expanded over the years and currently consists of 16 teams.
The league has been won by a number of different teams over the years. The most successful team is Fulwood Amateurs, who have won the league 13 times.
Current Season
The current season is the 2022-23 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Fulwood Amateurs, while the First Division is being led by Longridge Town.
The league cup is currently being competed for. The final is scheduled to be played on 21 May 2023.
