The Lonsdale Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in London, England. It was founded in 1903 and currently has over 100 clubs affiliated to it. The league is divided into three divisions: Premier Division, Division One, and Division Two.
History
The Lonsdale Amateur Football League was founded in 1903 by a group of football enthusiasts who wanted to create a league for amateur players. The league was originally called the Hackney and Leyton Sunday League, but it was renamed the Lonsdale Amateur Football League in 1920.
The league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 clubs affiliated to it. The league is divided into three divisions: Premier Division, Division One, and Division Two. The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is home to some of the best amateur teams in London.
Current Season
The current season of the Lonsdale Amateur Football League is the 2023-2024 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Clapton FC, who have won the league title for the past two seasons. Other teams in contention for the title include Leyton Orient, Wanstead, and Woodford Town.
The Division One is currently being led by Barkingside FC, who are looking to win promotion to the Premier Division this season. Other teams in contention for promotion include Ilford, Redbridge, and Romford.
