London Metropolitan League
The London Metropolitan League is an amateur football league in England. It is the top tier of amateur football in London, and is a member of the National League System at Step 6. The league was founded in 1965.
History
The London Metropolitan League was founded in 1965 by a merger of the Metropolitan League and the Greater London League. The league initially had 16 clubs, but this has since grown to 32 clubs. The league is divided into two divisions, the Ron Pope Premier Division and the John Pitts Senior Division. The top two teams in the Ron Pope Premier Division are promoted to the Isthmian League Division One North, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the John Pitts Senior Division. The top two teams in the John Pitts Senior Division are promoted to the Ron Pope Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Division Two.
The London Metropolitan League has produced a number of professional footballers, including Danny Murphy, David James, and Martin Keown.

The current season of the London Metropolitan League is the 88th season. The Ron Pope Premier Division is currently led by FC Romania, while the John Pitts Senior Division is currently led by AFC Wimbledon Development.
