Introduction

The LIZ 2 is an amateur football league in Ghana. It is the second tier of the Ghanaian football league system, below the Ghana Premier League.

The league was founded in 1969 and is currently contested by 16 teams. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Ghana Premier League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the LIZ 3.

LIZ 2 action

The LIZ 2 was founded in 1969 as the Ghana Second Division. The league was renamed the LIZ 2 in 2003.

The most successful team in the history of the LIZ 2 is Accra Hearts of Oak, who have won the league 10 times. Other successful teams include Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold SC, and Berekum Chelsea.
