Introduction
Liga Link is an amateur football league in Ireland that caters solely for over 35 football. It is the largest League in Ireland providing football at this level.
The League was founded in Dublin on the 23rd May 1954. The League provides soccer as a sport, administered on behalf of the members by voluntary officials, who always endeavour to be impartial in the way they administer the League.
Over the years the League has been at the forefront of change introducing under 19 and Over '35 football. The League now caters solely for over 35 football and is the largest League in Ireland providing football at this level.
League Structure
The Liga Link is divided into three divisions: Premier, 1 North, and 2 North. The Premier Division is the top division and is made up of the 12 best teams in the League. The 1 North and 2 North divisions are made up of the remaining teams in the League.
Each division plays a double round robin format, with each team playing each other team twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next higher division, while the bottom two teams in each division are relegated to the next lower division.
Current Season
The current season of the Liga Link is the 2023 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Templeogue United, with Sandyhill/Shangan in second place and Sheriff YC in third place. In the 1 North Division, DCT Utd A is in first place, followed by Confey and Cottage Cel. In the 2 North Division, Firhouse Carmel is in first place, followed by Lucan Utd and Walkinstown Utd.
