Introduction
Liga 3 is the third tier of the Portuguese football league system. It is organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF).
The league was founded in 2014, replacing the Segunda Liga as the third tier. It is currently composed of 24 teams, divided into two groups of 12.
The top two teams from each group are promoted to the Segunda Liga, while the bottom two teams from each group are relegated to the Campeonato de Portugal.
Current season
The current season of Liga 3 began on 28 August 2022 and is scheduled to end on 14 May 2023.
