Introduction
The Liefhebbers En Veteranenvoetbalverbond Van Melle (L.E.V.V.V.) is an amateur football league in the municipality of Melle, Belgium. It was founded in 1976 and currently has 18 member clubs.
The league organizes competitions for both men and women, as well as veterans. The men's competition is divided into three divisions, while the women's competition is divided into two divisions. There is also a veterans' competition for players over the age of 35.
The L.E.V.V.V. is affiliated with the Belgian Football Association (KBVB).
History
The L.E.V.V.V. was founded in 1976 by a group of football enthusiasts in the municipality of Melle. The league's first season saw 12 member clubs compete in a single division.
In the early years, the L.E.V.V.V. struggled to attract new members. However, the league's fortunes began to improve in the 1990s. By the end of the decade, the league had grown to 18 member clubs.
The L.E.V.V.V. has continued to grow in recent years. In the 2022-2023 season, the league had 20 member clubs.
Competitions
The L.E.V.V.V. organizes competitions for both men and women, as well as veterans. The men's competition is divided into three divisions, while the women's competition is divided into two divisions. There is also a veterans' competition for players over the age of 35.
The winners of each division in the men's and women's competitions qualify for promotion to the next higher division. The bottom teams in each division are relegated to the next lower division.
The veterans' competition is a round-robin tournament. The team with the most points at the end of the season is the winner.
