Leighton Sunday League

The Leighton Sunday League is an amateur football league based in the Leighton Buzzard area of Bedfordshire, England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has 40 teams competing in four divisions. The league is affiliated to the Bedfordshire County Football Association and is eligible to enter teams into the FA Sunday Cup.

History

The Leighton Sunday League was founded in 1922 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially had just two divisions, but it has since expanded to four divisions. The league has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former professional footballers such as Steve Bull and Paul Konchesky.

Leighton Sunday League action

The league has also been involved in a number of charitable initiatives. In 2015, the league raised over £1,000 for the local hospice. The league also supports the Bedfordshire FA's Kick Racism Out of Football campaign.
