Leeds Sunday League
The Leeds Sunday League is an amateur football league in Leeds, England. It was founded in 1902 and is one of the oldest Sunday leagues in the country. The league currently has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.
History
The Leeds Sunday League was founded in 1902 by a group of local footballers who wanted to play competitive football on Sundays. The league initially had just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.
The league has been home to some of the best amateur footballers in the country, including former Leeds United players Tony Yeboah and David Batty. The league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including current Sheffield United player Billy Sharp.
Current Structure
The Leeds Sunday League currently has 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The top four teams in the Premier Division qualify for the Leeds Sunday League Cup, which is the league's premier knockout competition.
The league also has a number of other cup competitions, including the Challenge Cup, the League Cup, and the President's Cup.
