The Leeds Sunday Alliance Football League is an amateur football league in Leeds, England. It was founded in 1892 and is currently in its 129th season. The league consists of two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One, with a total of 40 clubs.
History
The Leeds Sunday Alliance Football League was founded in 1892 by a group of amateur footballers in Leeds. The league has been running continuously ever since, making it one of the oldest amateur football leagues in England.
The league has been renamed several times over the years. It was originally called the Leeds & District Sunday Alliance Football League, but it was renamed the Leeds Sunday Alliance Football League in 1974.
Current Structure
The Leeds Sunday Alliance Football League currently consists of two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One. The Premier Division has 20 clubs, while Division One has 20 clubs.
The top four teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season qualify for the play-offs. The winner of the play-offs is promoted to the Northern Counties East League Division One.
The bottom four teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division One. The top four teams in Division One are promoted to the Premier Division.
Recent Seasons
The 2021-22 season was won by Farsley Celtic, who finished the season unbeaten. The runners-up were Kippax Sundays, and the third-placed team was Drighlington.
The 2022-23 season is currently in progress. The current leaders are Chapeltown, followed by Farsley Celtic and Kippax Sundays.
