Introduction
League U15 is an amateur football league for players under the age of 15. It is organized by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and is the third tier of the Indonesian football league system.
The league consists of 34 provincial leagues, with the winners of each league advancing to the national play-off round. The national play-off round is held annually and the winner is crowned the national champion.
History
League U15 was founded in 2017 as a replacement for the Soeratin Cup U15. The Soeratin Cup was a youth football competition that had been held since 1965, but it was discontinued in 2017 due to financial difficulties.
League U15 is the first national youth football league in Indonesia to be organized by the PSSI. The league is seen as a way to develop young footballers and to identify future stars for the Indonesian national team.
Format
League U15 is a single-elimination tournament. The 34 provincial leagues are divided into 8 groups, with the winners of each group advancing to the national play-off round. The national play-off round is a knockout tournament, with the winner being crowned the national champion.
