Introduction
League B is an amateur football league in England. It is the third tier of the English football league system, below League One and above League Two. The league is run by the English Football League (EFL).
History
League B was founded in 1992, as part of the restructuring of the English football league system. The league was originally called the Third Division, but was renamed League B in 2004.
Current teams
Format
League B is a league of 24 teams, who play each other twice, once home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to League One, while the bottom four teams are relegated to League Two.
