Kutonen

Kutonen (Sixth tier) is the sixth highest level of the Finnish football league system. It is divided into 24 regional groups, each of which consists of 10-12 teams. The season runs from April to October, and the champions of each group are promoted to Kakkonen (Fifth tier). The bottom two teams in each group are relegated to Ykkönen (Seventh tier).

History

Kutonen was first introduced in 1990, when the Finnish football league system was reorganized. The league was originally called Kolmonen (Third tier), but was renamed Kutonen in 2005.

The 2023 season of Kutonen is currently in progress. The champions of each group will be promoted to Kakkonen, and the bottom two teams in each group will be relegated to Ykkönen.
