Ipswich Sunday Football League

The Ipswich Sunday Football League (ISFL) is an amateur football league based in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. It was founded in 1923 and currently has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.

History

The ISFL was founded in 1923 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially had just 10 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.

The ISFL has been home to some talented players over the years, including former Ipswich Town players John Wark and Paul Mariner. The league also has a strong tradition of producing referees, with several ISFL referees going on to officiate at professional level.

Structure

The ISFL is divided into 10 divisions, with each division containing 10 teams. The top two teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the previous division.

The ISFL also has a cup competition, the ISFL Challenge Cup. The Challenge Cup is open to all teams in the league and is played on a knock-out basis.

The current season of the ISFL is the 2023/24 season. The league is sponsored by The Golden Hind, a local pub.

The current champions of the ISFL are AFC Bergholt. AFC Bergholt have won the league title 10 times, more than any other team.
