Interdistrict Amateur Football League
The Interdistrict Amateur Football League (IDC) is an annual football tournament held in Fiji. It is contested by teams from the different districts of Fiji, and is considered to be the most prestigious amateur football tournament in the country.
The IDC was first held in 1938, and has been held every year since then, except for a few years during World War II. The current champions are the Suva City Council, who won the title in 2022.
History
The IDC was founded in 1938 by the Fiji Football Association. The first tournament was held in Suva, and was won by the Suva Soccer Association.
The IDC was suspended during World War II, but resumed in 1946. The tournament has been held every year since then, except for a few years due to political unrest or natural disasters.
The IDC has become increasingly popular over the years, and is now considered to be the most prestigious amateur football tournament in Fiji. The tournament is usually held in the summer, and attracts teams from all over the country.
Format
The final is usually held at the National Stadium in Suva. The winner of the IDC is awarded the IDC Trophy, and the runners-up are awarded the IDC Shield.
