The Ilkeston 6-a-side League is an amateur football league based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England. It was founded in 2005 and currently has over 40 teams competing in various divisions.
History
The Ilkeston 6-a-side League was founded in 2005 by a group of local footballers who wanted to create a more informal and fun alternative to traditional 11-a-side football. The league has grown steadily since then and now has over 40 teams competing in various divisions.
The league is affiliated to the Football Association and its rules are based on the FA's 6-a-side football guidelines. Matches are played on 3G pitches and last for 20 minutes each way.
Divisions
The Ilkeston 6-a-side League has a variety of divisions, catering for all levels of ability. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by the First Division, Second Division, and Third Division. There are also a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the Floodlit Cup.
