Huddersfield Junior Football League
The Huddersfield Junior Football League (HJFL) is an amateur football league based in Huddersfield, England. It is affiliated to the West Riding County Football Association and has approximately 950 teams starting at Under 7s all the way through to the Under 18s.
The HJFL was founded in 1922 and has grown steadily over the years. It currently has over 100 clubs registered with it, with teams playing in a variety of divisions. The league is divided into two sections, the Premier Division and the First Division. The Premier Division is the top division and is contested by the best teams in the league. The First Division is the second tier and is contested by the next best teams.
The HJFL season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division home and away. The top teams in each division are promoted to the next higher division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the next lower division.
The HJFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the HJFL Cup, the HJFL Challenge Cup, and the HJFL Youth Cup. These cups are open to all teams in the league.
