Hinckley Leisure 5-A-Side Sunday League
The Hinckley Leisure 5-A-Side Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Hinckley, Leicestershire. It was founded in 2005 and currently has over 30 teams competing in three divisions. The league plays its matches at the Hinckley Leisure Centre on Sunday evenings.
Season Structure
The league season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division once, with the top two teams in each division being promoted and the bottom two teams being relegated. The season culminates in a play-off competition to determine the overall champions.
Rules
The league plays by the FA 5-a-side Laws of the Game. The most important rules are as follows:
- The game is played on a full-size football pitch with goals of 5 yards wide.
- Each team consists of five players and one goalkeeper.
- There are no substitutions.
- The game is played over two halves of 20 minutes each.
- The golden goal rule applies, meaning that the team that scores the first goal in extra time wins the match.
Costs
The cost of entering the league is £100 per team. This includes the cost of match fees, referee fees, and league administration.
