Herts Advertiser Sunday Football League
The Herts Advertiser Sunday Football League (HASL) is an amateur football league in Hertfordshire, England. It was founded in 1922 and is currently affiliated to the Hertfordshire Football Association.
The HASL has a total of 50 clubs competing in six divisions, from the Premier Division down to Division Five. The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Goulding Senior Cup, the Goulding Junior Cup, the Challenge Cup, the Charity Cup, the Intermediate Cup, the Junior Cup, the KO Cup, and the Reserve Cup.
The HASL is a popular league with over 1,500 players competing each season. The league provides a great opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy playing football at a competitive level.
History
The Herts Advertiser Sunday Football League was founded in 1922 by the Herts Advertiser newspaper. The league originally had just four divisions, but it has since expanded to six divisions.
The HASL has been home to some famous players over the years, including former England internationals David Beckham and Michael Owen. Beckham played for the Ridgeway Rovers youth team in the HASL before moving on to Manchester United. Owen played for the Hoddesdon Town youth team in the HASL before moving on to Liverpool.
