Heck Foods Harrogate & District Association Football League
The Heck Foods Harrogate & District Association Football League (HADAFL) is an amateur football league in the Harrogate area of North Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1904 and currently has 20 clubs playing in two divisions: the Colin Lowe Memorial Premier Division and the Jan Sinker Memorial Division One.
History
The HADAFL was founded in 1904 as the Harrogate & District Association Football League. It was renamed the Heck Foods Harrogate & District Association Football League in 2019 after the local food company Heck Foods became the league's main sponsor.
The league has been won by a variety of clubs over the years, including Knaresborough Celtic, Pannal Sports, and Ripon City. The current champions are Beckwithshaw Saints, who won the Colin Lowe Memorial Premier Division in 2022-23.
Divisions
The HADAFL currently has two divisions:
- Colin Lowe Memorial Premier Division (10 teams)
- Jan Sinker Memorial Division One (10 teams)
The teams in each division play each other twice, home and away, during the season. The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the North Riding County League at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One. The top two teams in Division One are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Harrogate & District League.
