HCSA Amateur Football League
The HCSA amateur football league is a student-run organization that provides opportunities for students at the University of Groningen to play soccer. The league was founded in 2011 and currently has over 50 teams competing in a variety of divisions.
Season Structure
The HCSA amateur football league runs from September to April. The season is divided into two parts: a regular season and a playoff tournament. The regular season consists of a round-robin format, with each team playing each other team once. The top teams in each division advance to the playoff tournament, which culminates in a championship match.
Divisions
The HCSA amateur football league has six divisions:
- Recreational
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Women's
- Veterans
- Over 35
The divisions are divided based on the skill level of the teams. The Recreational division is for teams that are new to the game or that are looking for a casual experience. The Intermediate division is for teams that have some experience playing soccer. The Advanced division is for teams that are looking for a more competitive challenge. The Women's division is for teams of women. The Veterans division is for teams of players over the age of 30. The Over 35 division is for teams of players over the age of 35.
