Introduction
The Grimsby, Cleethorpes & District Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in the North East Lincolnshire area of England. It was founded in 1921 and currently has over 100 teams competing in four divisions.
The league is affiliated to the Lincolnshire FA and its matches are played on Sundays. The season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other twice.
The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
Recent Season
The 2022-23 season was won by Cromwell FC, who finished the season unbeaten. The runners-up were Humberston FC, while the third-placed team was Old Clee Sewell.
The top scorer in the league was Matty Pinder of Cromwell FC, who scored 40 goals. The most assists were provided by Tom Green of Old Clee Sewell, who made 20 assists.
Cup Competitions
The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Terry Hanley Memorial Cup, the Charity Shield and the Junior Challenge Cup.
The Terry Hanley Memorial Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league. It is named after Terry Hanley, a former player and chairman of the league. The cup is contested by the top teams in the league.
The Charity Shield is contested by the winners of the Terry Hanley Memorial Cup and the runners-up in the league.
The Junior Challenge Cup is for teams in the lower divisions of the league.
