About the Grantham Sunday League
The Grantham Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has 20 teams competing in three divisions.
The league is affiliated to the Lincolnshire Football Association and its teams compete for the Arion Cup, the Willow Lane Motors League Shield, and the Division One Trophy.
History
The Grantham Sunday League was founded in 1920 by a group of local footballers. The league initially had just four teams, but it has since grown to become one of the largest Sunday leagues in Lincolnshire.
The league has been home to some famous players over the years, including former England internationals Paul Gascoigne and David Beckham.
Current Season
The current season of the Grantham Sunday League began in September 2022 and is scheduled to end in May 2023. The current champions are The Three Gables FC First, who won the title in the 2021-22 season.
