GN Bank Division One League
The GN Bank Division One League is the second-tier football league in Ghana. It is organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and is sponsored by GN Bank, a private commercial bank in Ghana.
The league is divided into three zones: Zone One, Zone Two, and Zone Three. Each zone has 16 teams, for a total of 48 teams in the league.
The top two teams from each zone at the end of the season are promoted to the Ghana Premier League, while the bottom two teams from each zone are relegated to the third-tier league.
History
The GN Bank Division One League was founded in 1998 as the Ghana Second Division League. It was renamed the GN Bank Division One League in 2018.
The league has been won by a number of clubs, including Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, and Aduana Stars.
Current Season
The current season of the GN Bank Division One League is the 2022-2023 season. The season began in October 2022 and is scheduled to end in May 2023.
The top two teams in the league at the end of the season will be promoted to the Ghana Premier League, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to the third-tier league.
