Introduction
The Gibraltar League is the top division of amateur football in Gibraltar. It is run by the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA). The league currently consists of 10 teams, and the season runs from September to May.
History
The Gibraltar League was founded in 1905. The first champions were Britannia. The league has been won by a variety of teams over the years, with Lincoln Red Imps being the most successful club, having won the title 26 times.
The Gibraltar League was granted full UEFA membership in 2013. This allowed Gibraltarian clubs to compete in European competitions for the first time.
