Introduction
The Georgian Amateur Football League (GAFL) is the governing body for amateur football in Georgia. It was founded in 1998 and currently has over 100 clubs competing in its leagues.
The GAFL's mission is to promote and develop amateur football in Georgia, and to provide opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game.
The GAFL organizes a variety of competitions, including the Georgian Amateur League, the Georgian Amateur Cup, and the Georgian Amateur Super Cup. It also provides training and development programs for coaches and referees.
Structure
The GAFL is divided into three levels: the First League, the Second League, and the Third League. The First League is the top level of amateur football in Georgia, and the Second League is the second tier. The Third League is the third tier, and it is divided into regional divisions.
The GAFL also organizes a women's league, a youth league, and a veterans league.
Current season
The current season of the Georgian Amateur League is the 2022-2023 season. The First League is currently being played, and the Second League will start in September 2023.
The defending champions of the First League are FC Tbilisi, and the defending champions of the Second League are FC Rustavi.
