History
The GJFL was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 600 teams. The league is divided into a number of divisions, based on the age and ability of the players.
The GJFL is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and follows the FA's rules and regulations. The league also has its own set of rules and regulations, which are designed to ensure that the games are played in a safe and fair manner.
Sponsors
The GJFL is currently sponsored by Admiral Teamwear, a leading supplier of football kits and equipment. Admiral Teamwear has been sponsoring the league since 2020 and their sponsorship has helped to provide the league with much-needed financial support.
The GJFL is also supported by a number of other local businesses and organizations. These sponsors help to cover the costs of running the league, such as the cost of referees, pitch hire, and league administration.
Season
The GJFL season runs from September to May. Each team plays 18 games in the regular season, with the top teams in each division qualifying for the playoffs. The playoffs are held at the end of the season to determine the league champions.
The GJFL also organizes a number of other competitions throughout the season, such as a cup competition and a tournament for younger players. These competitions provide an opportunity for all players to compete and win trophies.
