Garforth Junior Football League
The Garforth Junior Football League (GJFL) is an amateur football league for boys and girls aged 7 to 18 in the Garforth area of Leeds, England.
The league was founded in 1974 and currently has over 600 teams playing in a variety of divisions. The GJFL is affiliated to the English Football Association (FA) and its teams compete in the FA Vase and FA Youth Cup.
League Structure
The GJFL is divided into three divisions:
- The Premier Division
- Division One
- Division Two
The Premier Division is the top division and is made up of the strongest teams in the league. Division One is the second tier, followed by Division Two.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the GJFL Cup, the GJFL Challenge Cup, and the GJFL Floodlit Cup.
Playing Conditions
The GJFL plays its games on a variety of pitches in the Garforth area. The majority of pitches are grass, but there are also a number of 3G pitches.
Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season, which runs from September to May.
