Fourth Division (amateur football league)
The Fourth Division is an amateur football league in the Netherlands. It is the third tier of the Dutch football league system, below the Tweede Divisie and above the Vijfde Klasse.
The Fourth Division is divided into four divisions, each with 16 clubs. The clubs play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two clubs in each division are promoted to the Tweede Divisie, while the bottom two clubs are relegated to the Vijfde Klasse.
The Fourth Division was created in 1954, when the Dutch football league system was reorganized. It was originally called the Hoofdklasse, but was renamed the Vierde Divisie in 2016.
