Football Central Sundays Amateur Football League
The Football Central Sundays Amateur Football League (FCSAFL) is an amateur football league based in Glasgow, Scotland. It was founded in 1978 as the Glasgow Sunday AFL and renamed the Sunday Central AFL at the beginning of season 2010/11.
History
The FCSAFL was founded in 1978 by a group of football enthusiasts who wanted to provide a competitive environment for amateur players in Glasgow. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 20 teams competing in three divisions.
The league is named after the Football Central pub in Glasgow, which was the original home of the league. The pub is still a popular meeting place for FCSAFL players and supporters.
Competitions
The FCSAFL currently has three divisions: the Premiership, the Championship, and the Lanarkshire Premier Division. The season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other once in a round-robin format.
The top two teams in the Premiership at the end of the season are promoted to the Scottish Amateur Football League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Championship. The top two teams in the Championship are promoted to the Premiership, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Lanarkshire Premier Division.
The FCSAFL also organizes a number of cup competitions, including the Lanarkshire Cup and the Sunday Central Cup.
