Gosport and Fareham League
The Gosport and Fareham League is an amateur Sunday football league based in Gosport, Hampshire, England. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the Gosport and Fareham League and the Solent Football League. The league currently has 31 teams from 26 clubs divided into three divisions.
History
The Gosport and Fareham League can trace its roots back to 1904, when the Gosport District League was founded. The league was renamed the Gosport and Fareham League in 1922. The Solent Football League was formed in 1987 from clubs of the Friendly League that started in 1971.
The two leagues merged in 2013 to form the Gosport and Fareham and Solent Football League. The league's headquarters are at Privett Park in Gosport.
Structure
The Gosport and Fareham League is divided into three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3. Each division consists of 10 teams. The top two teams from each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the previous division.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the Frank and Pat Marsden Challenge Cup, the Gosport War Memorial Charities Cup, and the John Norton Memorial Cup.
