Introduction
Engdonian Football is an amateur football league based in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1970 and currently has over 100 clubs. The league is divided into four divisions, with promotion and relegation between divisions each season.
The top division of Engdonian Football is the Hoofdklasse. The winner of the Hoofdklasse is promoted to the Dutch amateur football Eerste Klasse, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Tweede Klasse.
The second division of Engdonian Football is the Tweede Klasse. The winner of the Tweede Klasse is promoted to the Hoofdklasse, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Derde Klasse.
The third division of Engdonian Football is the Derde Klasse. The winner of the Derde Klasse is promoted to the Tweede Klasse, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Vierde Klasse.
The fourth division of Engdonian Football is the Vierde Klasse. The winner of the Vierde Klasse is promoted to the Derde Klasse.
History
Engdonian Football was founded in 1970 by a group of amateur football enthusiasts. The league was originally called the Engdonian Football Association, but it was renamed to Engdonian Football in 2000.
The league has grown steadily since its founding, and it now has over 100 clubs. The top division of Engdonian Football, the Hoofdklasse, is currently contested by 16 teams.
The most successful club in Engdonian Football history is EFC Enschede. EFC Enschede has won the Hoofdklasse title 10 times.
