Eastern Suffolk Youth League
The Eastern Suffolk Youth League (ESYL) is an amateur football league for children and young people in the East of England. It was founded in 1969 and currently has over 100 member clubs.
The ESYL runs leagues for players of all ages, from under-7s to under-18s. There are also leagues for girls and boys, as well as disability football.
The ESYL is affiliated to the East of England Football Association (EEFA). This means that its leagues are recognised by the FA and players can progress to play at a higher level.
History
The ESYL was founded in 1969 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw 12 clubs competing in the league.
The ESYL has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 member clubs. The league currently runs leagues for players of all ages, from under-7s to under-18s. There are also leagues for girls and boys, as well as disability football.
Current Season
The 2023-2024 season is currently underway. The league has over 1,000 teams competing in its various divisions.
The current champions are Waveney Tigers, who won the under-18s Premier Division last season.
