East Berkshire Football Alliance
The East Berkshire Football Alliance (EBFA) is an amateur football league based in East Berkshire, England. The league has two divisions, headed by the Premier Division. The Premier Division was a feeder to the Hellenic League but lost its step 7 status after the 2011–12 season.
History
The EBFA was founded in 1921. The original league consisted of 10 teams, all from the Reading area. The league has grown over the years and now has 29 teams, from across East Berkshire.
The EBFA has been a feeder league to the Hellenic League for many years. However, after the 2011–12 season, the Premier Division of the EBFA lost its step 7 status. This was due to a number of factors, including the formation of the Thames Valley Premier Football League.
Current Structure
The EBFA currently has two divisions:
- Premier Division
- Division One
The Premier Division consists of 14 teams, while Division One consists of 15 teams. The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the Thames Valley Premier Football League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One.
Domestic Cups
The EBFA also runs two domestic cups:
- East Berks League Cup
- East Berks Presidents Cup
The East Berks League Cup is open to all teams in the EBFA. The East Berks Presidents Cup is for teams in the Premier Division and Division One.
