D.W.S.L Amateur Football League
The D.W.S.L (Dublin Women's Soccer League) is an amateur football league for women in Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1974 and currently has over 60 teams competing in 10 divisions.
History
The D.W.S.L was founded in 1974 by a group of women who wanted to play football in Dublin. The first season had just 4 teams, but the league has grown steadily over the years. In 2023, the D.W.S.L has over 60 teams competing in 10 divisions.
The D.W.S.L has played a significant role in the development of women's football in Ireland. Many of the players who have represented Ireland at international level have played their early football in the D.W.S.L.
Divisions
The D.W.S.L currently has 10 divisions, divided into two sections: Premier and Senior. The Premier Division is the top division, and the Senior Division is the second tier. The remaining eight divisions are divided into regional groups.
