Dudley & Cradley Amateur Football League
The Dudley & Cradley Amateur Football League is an amateur football league in the West Midlands, England. It was founded in 1907 and currently has over 100 teams playing in its various divisions. The league is affiliated to the Birmingham County FA.
History
The league was founded in 1907 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially had just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years. In the 1980s, the league had over 100 teams and was one of the largest amateur football leagues in the country.
In recent years, the league has seen a decline in playing numbers. This is due to a number of factors, including the rise of professional football, the decline of local pubs, and the increasing cost of playing football.
Divisions
The league is divided into 10 divisions, with each division having a different number of teams. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by Division One, Division Two, and so on.
The teams are promoted and relegated between divisions each season, based on their finishing position.
Cup competitions
The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Premier Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the League Cup.
The Premier Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league. It is contested by the teams in the Premier Division.
The Challenge Cup is open to all teams in the league. It is the most popular cup competition in the league.
The League Cup is open to the teams in the top four divisions.
