Introduction
The Dubbo & District Football Association is an amateur football league based in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 1898 and currently has over 30 clubs competing in a variety of divisions.
The association's home ground is the Dubbo Showground Oval, but it also uses a number of other grounds around the city. The season runs from April to September, with each team playing each other once during the regular season.
The top division of the association is the Premier League, which is currently contested by 10 teams. The winners of the Premier League qualify for the New South Wales State Cup.
History
The Dubbo & District Football Association was founded in 1898 by a group of local enthusiasts. The first season was played with just three teams, but the competition quickly grew in popularity.
In the early years, the association was dominated by the Dubbo Rugby Club, which won the first 10 premierships. However, other clubs began to challenge for the title in the 1920s and 1930s.
The association has continued to grow and develop over the years. In recent years, it has introduced a number of new initiatives, including a women's competition and a junior development program.
