Dorset Youth Football League
The Dorset Youth Football League (DYFL) is an amateur football league for players aged 11 to 16 in the county of Dorset, England.
The league was founded in May 2001 and is sanctioned by the Dorset County Football Association. It currently consists of 49 clubs and 222 teams spread over 10 age groups, with approximately 3,000 registered players.
History
The DYFL was founded in May 2001, originally as the Dorset Divisional Youth League. The league was renamed to the Dorset Youth Football League in 2007.
The league has grown steadily since its inception, and now consists of 49 clubs and 222 teams. The league has also expanded to include girls' teams, and now runs the Dorset Girls' Football League.
Competitions
The DYFL runs competitions for players aged 11 to 16. The competitions are divided into 10 age groups:
- Under-11
- Under-12
- Under-13
- Under-14
- Under-15
- Under-16
The competitions are played on a Saturday morning, and are split into two divisions: a Premier Division and a Division One.
