Doncaster & District Junior Sunday Football League
The Doncaster & District Junior Sunday Football League is an amateur football league for boys and girls under the age of 18 in the Doncaster area of England.
The league was founded in 1968 and currently has over 100 clubs affiliated to it. The teams are divided into a number of divisions, based on age and ability.
The league season runs from September to April, with each team playing a number of matches each week. The top teams in each division qualify for promotion to the next level, while the bottom teams are relegated.
History
The Doncaster & District Junior Sunday Football League was founded in 1968 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 clubs affiliated to it.
The league has a number of cup competitions, including the JJ Leisure Cup and the Doncaster Junior Shield. The league also runs a number of development initiatives, such as coaching courses and talent identification programs.
