Devon & Exeter Football League
The Devon & Exeter Football League is an amateur football competition based in England. It was established around 1900 and currently has 9 divisions, with over 80 clubs and 130 teams taking part. Nearly 4000 players are registered with the league.
The top division of the league, the Premier Division, sits at level 12 of the English football league system and is a feeder to the Devon Football League. The league covers a 50-mile range from Exeter.
History
The Devon & Exeter Football League was founded in around 1900. The original name of the league was the Exeter & District League. The league was renamed the Devon & Exeter Football League in 1921.
The league has been expanded several times over the years. In 1974, the league added a new division, the Premier Division. In 1992, the league added two more divisions, the Division One and the Division Two. In 2002, the league added two more divisions, the Division Three and the Division Four. In 2012, the league added two more divisions, the Division Five and the Division Six.
Current Structure
The Devon & Exeter Football League currently has 9 divisions:

- Division One
- Division Two
- Division Three
- Division Four
- Division Five
- Division Six
- Division Seven
- Division Eight
- Division Nine
The Premier Division is the top division of the league. The teams in this division play each other twice, once home and once away. The winner of the Premier Division is promoted to the Devon Football League. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division One.
The other divisions are also structured on a promotion and relegation system. The top teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the previous division.
