Introduction
The Crosby District League is an amateur football league based in the town of Crosby, Merseyside, England. It was founded in 1904 and currently consists of 20 teams competing in two divisions.
The league is affiliated to the Liverpool County FA and the Football Association.
The current champions are Crosby Stuart, who won the Premier Division title in 2022-23.
History
The Crosby District League was founded in 1904 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The inaugural season consisted of just six teams, but the league has since grown to its current size of 20 teams.
The league has been home to some of the best amateur footballers in Merseyside over the years, including former Liverpool and England international John Barnes.
Structure
The Crosby District League consists of two divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division. The Premier Division is the top flight of the league and is contested by the 10 best teams. The First Division is the second tier of the league and is contested by the remaining 10 teams.
The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the Liverpool County Combination at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the First Division. The top two teams in the First Division are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Crosby District League Reserves League.
