Introduction
The Coventry & District Church Football League (C&DFL) is an amateur football league based in Coventry, England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has over 40 teams playing in two divisions. The league is affiliated to the Football Association.
History
The C&DFL was founded in 1922 by a group of church ministers who wanted to provide a sporting outlet for young people in Coventry. The league initially had just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 40 teams.
The C&DFL has been a breeding ground for some talented footballers over the years. Former England internationals Gary Neville and David Beckham both played in the league when they were teenagers.
Divisions
The C&DFL currently has two divisions: Division 1 and Division 2. Division 1 is the top division and is made up of the strongest teams in the league. Division 2 is the second division and is made up of the less experienced teams.
Cup competitions
The C&DFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the C&DFL Cup, the C&DFL Challenge Cup, and the C&DFL Senior Cup. The C&DFL Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league and is open to all teams in the C&DFL.
