Introduction
The Cornwall Youth Football League (CYFL) is an amateur football league for children and young people in Cornwall, England. It was founded in 1969 and currently has over 200 teams playing in a variety of age groups, from Under-7s to Under-18s.The CYFL is affiliated to the Cornwall Football Association (CFA) and follows the FA's Standard Code of Rules for Youth Football. The league is divided into a number of divisions, based on the age of the players and the standard of competition.
Season Structure
The CYFL season runs from September to May. Each team plays a number of matches against other teams in their division, with the top teams at the end of the season being promoted and the bottom teams being relegated.The CYFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Cornwall Youth Cup and the Cornwall County Cup. These competitions are open to all teams in the league and provide an opportunity for teams to win silverware.
Playing Conditions
The CYFL matches are played on a variety of pitches throughout Cornwall. The standard of pitches varies, but all matches are played in accordance with the FA's guidelines.The CYFL also requires all teams to have qualified coaches and to provide appropriate equipment for their players. This helps to ensure that all players have a safe and enjoyable experience.
