Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League
The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League is an amateur football league in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England. It was founded in 1975 and currently consists of 20 teams. The league is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Football Association.
History
The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League was founded in 1975 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just 10 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has 20 teams. The league is named after the Comet newspaper, which was a local newspaper that was published in Stevenage until 2009.
Structure
The Comet Stevenage Sunday Football League is divided into two divisions: the Premier Division and Division 1. The Premier Division is the top division, and it is made up of the 10 best teams in the league. Division 1 is the second division, and it is made up of the remaining 10 teams.
The teams in each division play each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Premier Division, and the bottom two teams are relegated to Division 1. Cup competitions
