Introduction
The Coledridge Stores Cumbria Veterans Football League is an amateur football league for players over the age of 35. It is based in Cumbria, England, and has three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3.
The league was founded in 2005 and currently has over 30 teams competing. Matches are played on Monday evenings during the season, which runs from September to April.
The league is affiliated to the Cumberland FA and is a great way for players to stay active and enjoy the game of football after they have finished playing at a higher level.
Divisions
The Coledridge Stores Cumbria Veterans Football League has three divisions:
- Division 1: This is the top division in the league and is made up of the strongest teams.
- Division 2: This is the middle division in the league and is made up of teams of a slightly lower standard.
- Division 3: This is the bottom division in the league and is made up of teams of the lowest standard.
Teams are promoted and relegated between the divisions each season based on their finishing position in the league table.
Cup Competitions
In addition to the league, the Coledridge Stores Cumbria Veterans Football League also runs a number of cup competitions, including:
- The Cumberland FA County Veterans Trophy: This is the main cup competition in the league and is open to all teams in the league.
- The Coledridge Stores Challenge Cup: This is a cup competition for teams in Divisions 1 and 2.
- The Cumberland FA County Veterans Plate: This is a cup competition for teams in Divisions 3 and below.
The cup competitions are a great way for teams to win silverware and test themselves against other teams in the league.
